Slot History

The first slot machine every made was called the 'Liberty Bell Slot' and it was invented back in 1895 by a brilliant man named Charles Fev, and from all of us slot players, we thank you Mr. Fev for inventing something that so many of us enjoy! This slot machine weighed a whopping 100 pounds plus and was made of cast iron, with feet and toes to stand on. It was not pretty, and was very dark and dull looking but it started a revolution in gaming that has exploded since then with entire cities, [Like Vegas] built on his invention.

Fast Forward to 1910 and the Mills Novelty Company who was in partnership with Charles Fev made some changes to the original Liberty Bell slot machine and added the now famous and popular 'Fruit Symbols' that all slot games now included [well most slot games]. Over 30,000 of these newer and better slot machines were produced and sold, but they still weighed a whopping 100 pounds!

On to 1930 and the big change from the cast iron slot machines over to wood slot machines, and a much lighter version, no more 100 pounds and much easy to move, and much better to look at! More features were added and the machines were much brighter and colorful making them much more noticeable.

Also in the same era of time a 'new' slot machine was introduced, and it was called the 'War Eagle' slot and it had a new invention added to its newer style of slot look, coin bet total. Moving across the top of the slot machine, in a scrolling manner, slot players could now view how many coins the have just bet on this machine which paved the way for more and more newer and better types of slot games until we have reached an era where you can play those exact type of slots, on the internet from the comfort of your own home!
